ABOUT ROBERT

MISSION

Completion of the 2022 Marathon des Sables. However, this gruelling, painful and sweaty event would not be complete without some charitable fundraising, so I have chosen to support Cancer and Veterans...

I decided to train for this event back in May 2018, giving myself an 18 month build up to enter the April 2020 MDS. Due to the impact of Covid19 – the event has been delayed every 6 months until October 2021, when I decided at the last minute the risk of Quarantine made entry the event unworkable. So here I am, waiting for the March 2022.

CHARITIES

It has been called the Toughest foot race on Earth”. Competitors sleep in bivouacs, are self-sufficient with their equipment and all food, but receive water bottle rations at specific checkpoints en route.
